In the field of practice, under the background of globalization, informatization and modernization, education no longer has emerged as a simple, orderly, linear, and transparent pattern, but a variety of complex patterns. Therefore, this requires us to think about them more carefully and grasp them more sensitively. In real life, from the perspective of social development, education has increasingly become a valuable tool to realize national goals and an important means to realize ideals. From the perspective of people's development, there is still much room for improvement in education to meet people's development needs and cultivate ideal personality. Overviewing the development of education, the reform of education is no longer just a local matter but has become an important means for governments all over the world to realize national interests and international demands. Education faces various challenges in coping with the uncertainty of human development and the changing nature of human development needs. In addition, the complexity of education attracts thinkers to explore continuously and try to find the "secrets" of the world of education and find the "key to change the world of education, so that we can better understand and transform this colorful and complicated field.

More than ten professors were convened by the Faculty of Education of Northeast Normal University, sorted out the research results of two decades, systematically diagnosed the problems of educational practice, constantly inquired the truth of education, and innovated educational theories. These research not only construct theoretical models but also explore the field of practice deeply. They not only diagnose the problem and analyze the cause, but also put forward strategies and measures; not only trace to the source with a historical vision, but also care about the reality and look forward to the future; not only concern about the national macro policy system, but also propose concrete and operational methods at the micro level; both are rooted in local research and focus on originality, but also lay emphasis on deep learning from an international perspective.

This series is a summary of educational research conducted by the Faculty of Education of Northeast Normal University. It is the record of many years of educational research by more thanten professors, and it is their unique understanding of China's educational reform. With this series as the fulcrum, we hope to start a dialogue with readers, explore the truth of education together, and constantly ponder, judge, and examine it.

Lijie Lyu is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Faculty of Education, Northeast Normal University, specializing in curriculum and teaching theory. She serves as the Vice Chairman of the Curriculum Committee of the Education Branch of the Chinese Education Society, a member of the expert group on revising compulsory education curriculum plans for the Ministry of Education, and a member of the National Education Professional Degree Graduate Education Steering Committee. In 2012, she was selected for inclusion in the "New Century Talent Support Plan" by the Ministry of Education. She has published over one hundred papers in prestigious journals such as Asia Pacific Journal of Education, Educational Research, Curriculum, Teaching Material and Method. One notable monograph authored by her is titled "Research on National Curriculum Design Process".

 

About the Translator

Ji Song, with a master’s degree, is an associate professor at the School of Foreign Languages, Dezhou University. His research interests include foreign language pedagogy and machine-aided translation. Since 2023, he has been employed as the supervisor of master’s degree in Subject Teaching (English) of Liaocheng University. From September 2016 to June 2017, he worked as a visiting scholar in Beijing Foreign Studies University. In recent years, he has presided over 5 provincial and city-level teaching and scientific research projects such as Shandong Province Social Science Planning Research Project, participated in more than 10 provincial and city-level teaching and scientific research projects and a number of horizontal scientific research projects, won more than 20 provincial and city-level teaching and scientific research achievement awards, and published more than 20 research papers. Since 2018, he has been in charge of successfully applying for 1 National and Regional Research Center of Universities of the Ministry of Education in China, 1 Foreign Affairs Think Tank of Shandong Province, 1 Social Science Research Base of Dezhou City, 1 scientific research platform of Dezhou University, 1 scientific research innovation team of Dezhou University, 1 key direction of discipline cultivation of the 13th Five-Year Plan of Dezhou University, and 1 supporting reserve discipline of Dezhou University.
