Abstract

Mozambican socialism is a key case study of 20th-century development paths among post-colonial African nations. Its evolution epitomizes Africa's anti-colonial struggle and modernization, with uniqueness rooted in the interaction of colonial resistance, practical experimentation and global trends. Unlike classical socialist models, it avoids dogmatic ideological transplantation, forming "practical socialism" shaped by anti-colonial experience and continuous exploration. Chronological analysis of its ideological origins, practical pathways and regulatory restructuring clarifies its development trajectory since the colonial era, examines current challenges and solutions. It offers insights into African countries' anti-colonial and localized exploration, highlights the potential of socialist theory and deepens the understanding of African Marxism. African Marxism is not a transient phenomenon; its anti-colonial and anti-racist essence is entirely consistent with Third World Marxism.
