Abstract

To explore the gender differences in parenting style and personality characteristics of adolescents with emotional disorders, and to better understand the parenting needs of adolescents, data were collected from October 2022 to October 2024, including 159 adolescent patients' evaluations using the Egna Minnen av Barndoms Uppfostran (EMBU) and the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ). The results indicate that the neuroticism scores of females were significantly higher than those of males. The EMBU scale showed gender differences in factor F3 (over control), factor F4 (preference forubject), with adolescent males scoring higher than adolescent females on the evaluation results. There were gender differences in personality characteristics, parenting styles and needs of adolescent patients in general hospitals.
