Abstract

The main purpose of English teaching is to communicate with others. Hence, speaking class is a process with the aim of improving students' communication ability. Communicative language learning (CLT) seeks to bring students beyond grammatical competence to a point, emphasizing interaction as the means and the ultimate goal of learning. This essay takes a deep reflection on my teaching beliefs and practice of speaking classes in a senior high school of China.
