Abstract

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, or EDI, refers to the understanding and inclusion of people with protected characteristics (including age, physical disability, marriage, race, religion or belief, gender, sexual orientation, etc.) or related matters. The University of Alberta has established a Vice President of EDI to strategize, train, and publish an annual report on EDI, which has achieved good results. Chinese universities should consider taking their strengths and identifying minorities, understanding them and respecting them under certain preconditions.
