A Study on the Roles and Functions of Collaborative Piano in Opera Rehearsals
Journal: Arts Studies and Criticism DOI: 10.32629/asc.v6i4.4323
Abstract
This study systematically investigates the multifaceted roles and functions of collaborative piano in operatic rehearsals, revealing core challenges and strategic solutions in localized production contexts through the lens of multidimensional collaboration and artistic praxis. Integrating theoretical analysis with practical case studies, it delineates collaborative piano’s core competencies across four dimensions: musical collaboration, vocal pedagogy, artistic interpretation, and technical support. Functioning as both an orchestral surrogate and artistic mentor, collaborative piano establishes a three-dimensional support framework for operatic rehearsals through precise musical articulation, dynamic collaborative synergy, and specialized pedagogical interventions.
