Abstract

Kobayashi Midoriko in The Forest of Norway is a character created by Haruki Murakami with personality of courage, liveliness, straightforwardness, casualness, loneliness, emptiness and loss. Exploring the character image helps to further understand the theme and artistic achievements of the work.
